InfoDot technology is not hardware dependent.
However, it does require an IMAGE scanner instead of a VECTOR scanner.
Newer IMAGE scanners actually take a "picture" of the target label
and are able to read both Bar Code and InfoDot labels.
The older technology VECTOR scanner would only be able to read a traditional Bar Code.
